Since moving to Manhattan in 2004, violinist Amie Weiss has had the opportunity to perform in an array of artistic projects ranging from early music to the avant-garde. These activities include concerts with The Knights Chamber Orchestra in Europe and the USA, international tours as a soloist with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, performances at Carnegie Hall and Tanglewood with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, and chamber music concerts with members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. She has recorded on Sony Classical, Tzadik, Asthmatic Kitty Records, Koch, Fat Cat and other labels.

Amie studied at the Oberlin Conservatory with violinist Milan Vitek and sitarist Hasu Patel in the classical music of North India. She has studied baroque violin with Marilyn McDonald, Jörg-Michael Schwarz, and Marc Destrube, and in 2009-2010 season will begin a Postgrad in early music at La Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya in Barcelona under the tutelage of Pablo Valetti and Manfredo Kraemer.
