This program is a celebration of Mozart's 250th anniversary. For this concert, Maggie Cole will be playing on two beautiful historic fortepianos -- a Paul McNulty copy of a Walter fortepiano from c. 1800 on loan from the Harvard Music Department keyboard
collection on Sunday at First Parish
in Concord, and a Thomas and Barbara Wolf copy of a Schantz fortepiano from
c. 1795 generously loaned by Robert Levin on Saturday at the Friends Meetinghouse in Cambridge.

Escape the winter chill and bask in music of 17th-century Venice with
internationally-acclaimed early music soprano Emily Van Evera and the
baroque strings of Sarasa.
Stirring songs and daring cantatas by the
celebrated Venetian singer-composer Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677), the
inventor of the cantata and La Serenissima's "virtuosissima cantatrice."
Violins, triple harp, cello and harpsichord join in her music and in
dazzling filigree and beauty of music for strings by Biagio Marini
and Dario Castello.
