Happy holidays!
detail from Winter Scene on a Frozen Canal (ca. 1620) by Hendrick Avercamp
Sarasa wishes each and every one of you a very festive and bright holiday season! Who knows how much snow/ice/sleet we might experience in the New England area this winter? If you prefer to sit by the fireside, rather than pursue outdoor winter activities, you can still listen to our most recent November concert-set, featuring Brahms and Beethoven piano trios with clarinet & cello in “His dear nightingale.” We also discuss our most recent, very moving outreach presentation for incarcerated teens at the RFK School in Middleton, MA. Watch here for a limited time!

'Tis the Season of Giving!

Zas (“Snow” in Navajo)
The snow begins to fall once more.
Drifting against the windows,
Politely begging entrance,
And then falling with disappointment,
to the ground.
Endlessly,
A heavy blanket on the outdoors.
Floating down on the silent Earth and covered
All around and silenced all trace of the world
I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields?
That it kisses them so gently and then it covers them up, snug, you know?
With a white quilt and perhaps it says "Go to sleep... Until the spring comes.”
~ Mikayla J. McRoye (Navajo/Hopi)
